Isn't this awesome.

Thats what Ness said while we were at the zoo.

"Isn't this awesome."

It took me off guard, because I didn't know what she was referring to.  But she quickly added...
"being a mom."

I agreed, and we continued to do what we do: talk, hold our babies, and watch our oldest 2 go down the otter slide over and over again.

12 months. 1 year. boone gregory.

boone dock. monkey head. boone boy. boonie.
YOU are ONE YEAR OLD.

you make us LAUGH, smile SO much, question our ability to parent, and feel like a million bucks when you wrap your fat arms around our necks and squeeze us for a boone hug.

you are all things opposite of your brother, in that, you are messy, fearless, defiant, stubborn, strong willed…

Many times, when i am in your face getting on to you about something, you will lean in and give me a kiss.  Sometimes, sometimes, i can keep it together.  But most of the time, i can't help but laugh.  You are such the Eddie Haskel.

still in size 5 diapers.  most definitely need to be in size 6.  but come on, you get like 40 less diapers in a  box!  i think the 5's work great.

you wear up to a 3T in some things.  soon, you will be sharing clothes with oak.

almost 25 lbs.  98%tile. (90 in weight, 50 in height)

7 teeth. (four on top 3 on bottom)

you love to blow.  this started with us practicing singing happy birthday to you a few months ago. its automatic, when that song is sung...you blow.  like a chimpanzee, big ole lips pucker together, and you create the cutest face the world has ever seen.  quite talented lips, ill say.
you also love to blow whistles, harmonicas, recorders, into straws, and party horns.

you growl. a lot. we kinda think this is your preferred language. growling.
we swear you said "hi daddy" in the bath the other night. you've said "ohhhhh, hiiii, byeee byeee, maaaa maaaa."  but really, i think you are content with growling.

you are obsessed with electrical cords, outlets, plugs, chargers, buttons, night lights...  basically, anything that lights up, has a button-type thing on it, or is dangerous...you like it. you make a b-line to these objects.  and you receive many spankings because of them.

we FaceTime with grandma and pa a lot. and you want to hold the phone. and when you do, you take off.  you love taking grandma on walks/runs.  y'all run all over this house.  and you are as proud as punch.  we usually wait until we are done talking for you to take grandma on a run because you usually hang up on her.   but boy, do you love your grandma runs.  you beam like we've given you gold.

you love to climb. on everything. chairs, stools, the fireplace hearth, the couch, the table, your highchair. you are quite the adventurer.

you eat meat. and beans. mainly, you eat protein. but not eggs, which is weird.
you like apples, but not cut up.  you want the whole apple. all by yourself.
we made huge strides with avocado this week. and salsa. (good boy.)  you are liking pouches more, which makes me feel 1,000 times better for the lack of veggies and fruits you eat.
you love spaghetti. and taco soup.

the red spot on your face (in the pic above) is doing a lot better.  you have had it since you were around 6 months.  we think it was a little pimple that got infected and eventually worked itself out and healed.  you now just have a scar that is getting smaller and smaller.

you LOVE your brother.  you LOVE picking him up from school. he is usually asleep when we get to school, and when he wakes up you clobber him with an amazing hug. you love to play with him and hug him. you love to run around the house with oak, play in the dirt, sword fight, wrestle, and tackle.  watching yalls relationship gets better and better every day.

you have THICK feet. yes, your feet are wide...but the issue we have, and why you only have 2 pairs of shoes that actually fit, is your feet are THICK.  this would be a direct gene you received from your pa. crocs are looking more and more appealing in your very near future.

you don't point AS much.  but anytime we say "night night, hi or bye," you wave-well, you move your fingers in a half-fist/half-wave.  its so so cute.

We love you mighty man.  We are so excited and so blessed to watch you grow and journey with you.  May you know the love of your Father and your need for Him 1,000 times more than your mom and dad.  Let mercy lead. I love you, mom.

eleven months, boone.

E L E V E N months.
i sound like a broken record....what in the world?!!!
time has flown, yet i don't remember life without you, boone.

you fill us with so much joy. DEFINITELY keep us on our toes, and constantly laughing.

Today, you colored on the wall with chalk, ate chalk, stood on top of your kids table, fell off the step stool in the bathroom, ate 3x the amount of pork than oak, danced the cutest dance(stomping and clapping and shaking one hand), climbed on the fireplace hearth and proceeded to crawl down it, battled with me on standing in a chair(i think i won), and brought me the night light from oaks room...just to name a few. :)

you are B R A V E, h i l a r i o u s, f e a r l e s s, O P I N I O N A T E D, HEAVY, fun, sweet,
D E T E R M I N E D and expressive.

You are practically jogging.  not really. but really.
you have 5 teeth and at least 3 on the way.
you weigh a lot.
you know what you want and want it now.
you wear up to a 3t.
you have said, maa maa, daa daa, ooooooo, hiii, byeee.

I love you, boone gregory.  I can't believe you will be a one year old so very soon.
i'm so proud to be your momma. you make me smile, real big.

Bluebonnets, Spring 2013

We met grandma and pa in Corsicana for dinner and found some bluebonnets...

10 months, Boone.

Sweet baby boy. You are 10 months old!
AND. you are WALKING.  You just slowly over the past month took more and more steps. and we can officially say you are a walker. at 9 months. no big deal.  you proved us wrong, big time.  we joked because you are so fat, you wouldn't walk until 18 months.
how many more times will you prove us wrong? i think i shall get real comfortable here. ;)

You still know where every electrical cord is.  And the toilets. sick. you love the toilets.  your sweet brother tries so hard to make sure the lids are closed so you dont stick your hands in the toilet.  he takes SUCH good care of you.

I love this next picture.  I love your hands and your feet and every roll on that leg. oh man, i think i might go scoop you up out of your bed right now.  :)

Speaking of bed, you are doing SO MUCH BETTER sleeping.  Right now, you sleep in the pack in play in the guest room.  We have tried putting you in the crib in your room with Oak a couple times but yall didnt like it too much.  That day will come though...

I love you Boonedock.  So so thankful you are mine.

Boone, 9 months.

Boone, I did it again. Im late.
You are almost 11 months old, and here i am writing your 9 month blog. Get it together, Laura!

Nevertheless, I LOVE YOU.

There is no where you think you cannot go, and nothing you think you cannot do.  This includes fitting through small spaces, and climbing to the top of high places.  You are fearless.  And I like it.  I think I will be learning a lot from you . :)

You are getting a lot of hair.  You have a lot more hair than oak did at this age.

And the BEST expressions.

Your dad and I don't know what to do with you sometimes.  When we discipline you, you often smile at us, and then we smile, BECAUSE WE CAN'T HELP IT.  We find ourselves cheering for the other, "greg, dont smile, dont do it... laura, hold it together, etc...", and then we usually loose it. :)
You are a HAM. And you bring us so much JOY.

Have I talked about your teething necklace?  It's not a fashion statement. Nope.
It's a baltic amber teething necklace.  Its supposed to have some natural minerals that have shown to help with the swelling of gums while teething.  I don't know if its working, but why not try it?

ANYDAY you will take off walking.  I just know it.  You are SO close.

I love you Boone Gregory.  This was the worst post ever, but im thankful for pictures. And for you.  And the reminder from friends that im not striving for perfection. amen. goodbye.

8 months, boone.

 boone dock,

8 months!!!!! holy moly.  I LOVE YOU.

you are hilarious.  You have this incredibly funny way of, well, being hilarious.  You are into EVERYTHING.  you LOVE outlets and electrical cords.  You put anything in your mouth.
I remember thinking outlet covers were silly when oak was little.  But you? You are trying to take them off!

You have eaten a lot more new things recently:  black beans, butternut squash, pear, blueberries, grapes.  I think avocado is still your favorite.

you have TWO bottom teeth.
you have an amazing laugh and are very ticklish, especially on your side.
you went to the beach for the first time...you loved it.  we think you would have crawled right into the ocean if we let you.  you love the water.

you are pulling up everywhere and on everything, including the toilet. gross.  you are one curious little guy full of adventure and totally fearless.
I think you could take a step any day.  you stand up and squat back down all on your own.

You LOVE your brother.  You love to watch him play and run and you like when he "wrestles" with you.  I have to remind him you are smaller and to be careful...but you don't ever mind, you smile the whole time.

I love you Boone.  So proud and honored to be your mama.
